On July 1, 2014, Brandon E. Robinson will begin an appointment as Associate Director of Bands at Wake Forest University. Currently, he is a Ph.D. music education candidate (ABD) and graduate teaching assistant at the University of Mississippi.
Mr. Robinson’s graduate teaching assistant duties include supervising student teachers, teaching MUS 103: Introduction to Music for non-music majors, and assisting the jazz ensembles. Prior to Mr. Robinson’s graduate work at Ole Miss, he served on the music faculty at Alcorn State University. While at ASU, Mr. Robinson taught jazz ensemble, jazz combo, woodwind studio, music theory, aural skills, woodwind techniques, and assisted with marching band, wind ensemble, and concert band. In addition to Mr. Robinson’s college teaching experience, he also taught in the public schools in Arkansas for twelve years. Mr. Robinson’s bands consistently received superior ratings in all areas, including marching band, concert band, and jazz band.
Mr. Robinson is the president and owner of BERmusic. Services include: student leadership workshops, custom music arrangements, custom drill design, marching/concert/jazz band clinics, and consulting.
Mr. Robinson earned a BME and a MM in instrumental conducting from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR and will complete a Ph.D. in music education from the University of Mississippi in the summer of 2014.
